I would have liked to post this using Vimeo but for some reason Vimeo would not allow me to upload my file, it would take forever to get to 100% then it would give me an error. I don't know what was going on but that's been happening since last night, so I went back to youtube.

Of course what you've all been waiting for, I finished my short film for the EA Reveal 07.
I worked long and hard at first, then I got sidetracked attending a film festival that my animation production class and I entered with a project that we worked on. The bulk of this project, including the rendering and compositing, was done within a week. Not the smartest of idea's but definetly an amazing accomplishment.
Coments and critiques are welcome.

Well look at me, silly isn't it that I'm starting now.
I'm going to get it done though. I don't really know how but I'll get it done. I still have to put another hour into my last project I think I'll do that tomorrow but for now I'd like you to take a look at what i wipped up tonight. I have been working for roughly four hours.

Well it looks like I've jumped the gun, in doing my animation "I decided"(was told by my gf) to stop and ask what my instructor thought of my idea for the short.

He listened with a stern face which worried me then he said that he loved the idea. He could really see the main part of it being really cool and funny. He did however have problems with the start and the end... so the part i was working on.

He raised very good points and in agreeing with him i now have to rework my story. I will be finishing the scene that i have started mostly because it's also going towards a diferent assignment aswell.

But hey what's this? after scrapping the nearly impossible tripple constraint of the headphones and sitting down without interruption I managed to finish the poses for the scene in 30 min!

Now I've reopened it, and done some work on the timing and imbetweenedso here it is after 2 hours of work.

3.5 hours now

Don't you just hate it when you realize that you havn't saved in a while and it might be good if you do. Then you hit the save button thinking that it will keep you from running into problems...then the damn program goes missing! It's just gone, off the screen. I captured this just before that though a few finishing touches are now missing.

Beginning of the end

Now with all of the copywrited work taken off or modified (a box over his head) I can start with my short.
This short will be a few scenes and probable a minute or two.
I will be completing assignments using scenes from it so it will be finished in segments.
I am starting the first scene now.
I modelled, rigged, and will be animating this character myself so there should be no copywright issues on this one.

Time to revamp!

So it would seem that a few people may have been a little annoyed that my school has been using characters for animations that "may or may not" look like animation mentor characters, so i will be revamping my blog here by changing the characters in my animations.
While this may take me some time to do as I have other work to be done in the mean time check out one of my other skills. I have made this 3d composit picture using a building I made and textured in xsi along with other buildings further away made by other students in my class.

The people, garbage, and other things were put in using photoshop.

But here we are, a new quarter and an fresh run of Drills for you to witness.

I have made a walk cycle in 2 hours using Mario Pochat's animation mentor work as referance.

Well of this six hour assignment i have used three and a half.

I added a bit of overlapping action to the arms and fingers, I pushed the poses a little more, added expression with the eyes, gave the physics on the sign a kick, and a few tweaks.

(this is after tweaking away from the animation mentor model)

Alright, I now have a working blog on the Beta!

Here is where I plan to drop my finished an in progress animations.

I am a student at The Center for Arts and Technology: Kelowna and most of what i post will be assignments and such.

I am looking forward to hitting the labour force in the coming summer of 07, and i hope employers like what they see here.

I call it a labour force, but it's 3d animation. Tough stuff for sure but not a whole lot of labour is involved.

I should have some animation up tonight, so if you read this before then you can have something to look forward to.
